Oil Type Distribution Transformers

Oil-type distribution transformers are devices that convert electrical energy from high voltage (usually 36 kV and below) to low voltage (such as 400 V or 230 V). These transformers are especially used in the distribution of power supplies in the distribution network to local consumption places. They have capacities ranging from 50 kVA to 5000 kVA. Oil-filled distribution transformers are designed using magnetic cores made of special alloy steels, copper windings and special insulation materials. Also, these transformers have thermometers and protection systems to control the temperature. Oil type distribution transformers are used especially in industrial facilities, energy distribution networks, shopping malls, hospitals and other large facilities. Due to their high efficiency, durability and reliability, these transformers are widely preferred for electrical power distribution.
